Starting with their parents, who built the dealer group, the LaFontaine Automotive Group has a long history of involvement in the community and supporting worthy causes. “We’ve been so blessed in our lives and in our business, we’ve always felt a responsibility to do what we can to give back to our community, to help others in whatever way we can,” says Ryan LaFontaine.

In April 2008, they had a very personal reason to help. That was when Ryan was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of blood cancer.

Team LaFontaine sprang into action and through a variety of fundraising events over the last few years, raised over $530,000 toward their goal of $1 million for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®. Today, Ryan is in full remission, and the money the LaFontaine Automotive Group has raised is funding six research grants at the nearby University of Michigan, making the cure for all forms of blood cancer a step closer to reality.
